March 30 To April 15 - Many people may consider Spring Break to be a trivial occurrence, just a big party by students who have nothing better to do with their time and money. But this is NOT SO! Spring Break actually is an established cultural tradition among college students, an annual event with its own sets of rituals, a piece of 20th century Americana.

April 17 to 20 - The first bicycle race was a 2km race held on 1868-05-31 at the Pare de St. Cloud, Paris. It was won by expatriate Englishman Dr. James Moore who rode a bicycle with solid rubber tires and newly invented ball bearings.

May 22 to 25 - Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in his General Order No. 11, and was first observed on 30 May 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.
